You may also want to force the phone into recovery mode and reload the firmware from scratch - I had an issue with an Aastra that this procedure fixed.

I think you can force recovery mode by holding the 1 and # keys during a start. You will then need a local tftp server with the firmware in order to get it operational again.

Here is a procedure to do the web recovery

Hello,

I have a client with an Aastra 57iCT phone that crashes when they
attempt to change the settings from the phone. The phone locks up
completely, until the power is reset.

It also seems to be locking up randomly when the phone is actually in
use. There is a faint click sound from the speaker just before the
phone crashes.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced this problem. I tried to
contact Aastra support, but I'm frankly getting nowhere with them. A
firmware update, etc. hasn't made any difference. There is no crash log.

There is another 57iCT phone at the same location, same firmware, not
experiencing any problem.

I suspect it's a hardware issue; but the phone is 6 months out of
warranty and I hate to tell the client they need to purchase something
new. I generally like Aastra phones, but I don't think they'd be
interested in buying a new unit if they aren't going to last.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Cheers,
Sean.
