Mark,
The 1st NIC is embedded in the motherboard.  I've tried disabling it
in the bios and rebooting without any cards in the PC.  However, even
after disabling it, upon boot I see IRQ 12 still being shared by the
USB device and eth0.

I'm not sure what to do next.
