Hii,
to the "float" question - I think, that the best would be let "float" in
English, now I can't figure other solution to be so short as it is in English.
- the only option would be probably the usage of "plovoucí čárka" and look at
it in GUI, whether it fits or not.
The discussion about proper translation of export between me and Petr Šimáček
was based on the concept, that can be found for example in Gimp too.
1) the saving of project's data
2) the exporting - to another format - used by other applications, here MP3,
Ogg Vorbis etc.
He works in radio and says it would is sometimes serious problem for some
people to understand the concept of project files and other formats. :-)
When I translate it just "Save as...", the people would have problem to find
that function quickly - the first time, ven if they know, it has to be there
(maybe he exagerrates - when the schema for searching and finding this in menu
File seems standard in currently used GUIs.
The option for that menu item - translate it as "Export as sound/Save as sound"
- it represents similar problem -> the people, they are able to accept just
"Export...", because they imagine immediately "Export to MP3, Ogg Vorbis etc)
It's about how quickly they can find, understand and use the Export function -
when it is really translated otherwise than "Export..." - to national language.
So the function in Frequency analysis window is understood by me as "Save as".
When saving in plain text I never imagined, that there would be the need to
Export it (even it might be not the same in this case).
The "Save as" text can be found in various applications too, I think.
I would prefer localization string "Save as" at that place. It is minor issue,
but it would be perfect.
You mentioned my update: the file I saw in SVN several minutes ago was the
first one, I've send, with 2310 strings, the updated file has 2296 strings. Now
I am not sure, whether I've sent that file in my update - created by merging
the completed translation (2310 strings) with 3 weeks old translation template
and completing it.
But it's no problem for me: after new .pot template generation I am able to
merge it and complete from translation memory of Lokalize.

Thanks for your major update, which I committed and confirmed
separately.

That's an empty line at that point in that file.

Do you mean
FreqWindow.cpp:219
LabelDialog.cpp:129
Menus.cpp:283
prefs/KeyConfigPrefs.cpp:173 ?

How would it work unless there were separate phrases in English,
for example the menu said File > Export Audio... but an "Export"
button said "Export..."? Personally I think "Export Audio..." in
the File menu would be helpful to people who save projects when
they think they are saving an audio file, but some may think it
excess verbiage.
Are you saying it is required in Czech that the translation of
"Export" in the context of an audio file must be different from
"Export" in the context of a text file? Is there not a suitable
"export" word that can apply to any kind of file?
Generally, translations are supposed to be literal. They should
not add arbitrary audio formats into the menu items for File >
Export and File > Export Selection. If you just translated
"Export" then you would not get audio formats in the Export...
button in Plot Spectrum.
Also please see the overflow in the Track Control Panel when
in default 32-bit float (attached).
Is there a one word translation of "float" that makes sense
such as "Pohy" something?
Thanks,
Gale
