One thing i did like about Thorin was the sense that he was one tough dwarf, and quite a bigger warrior than his dwarf size might have suggested. Although, one thing that kind of bothers me now is his all issue with Elrond in the film. In the book, is really only mentioned that the dwarves and elves don't get along all that well, but i don't like the whole Thorin getting testy with Elrond bit in the movie. I'm reading the book right now, and Thorin, by Gandalf's suggestion, tryed to keep a straight face and be polite. I guess my point is, the movie kind of makes Thorin out to be an ass, which is not how i picture him.
