That last post brings me to a rather importent question on the direction of the game. To explain, I myself am starting to notice that the initial project alpha storyline is simply not portible to a sequel or online title, and even if it is, i'm actually getting really rather fed up of trying to confine the storyline to more project alpha standards. No, don't get me rong, i'm not saying that i'm quitting game development again nore quitting science fiction, but I was thinking of scrapping the dm concept altogether and doing it more dmnb stile. Their still wouldn't be any teleporters and whatnot that made the original dmnb crap, but the online mode i'm thinking would still be even more open with all the activities, and i'd still be able to do the storyline baste missions, just that I wouldn't have to be limited to the standards project alpha set, which also would free up additional space for storyline writing. Do keep in mined before I make th is change, i'd still keep exploration, i'd give you activities, i'd still keep the aliens, and i'd still be able to open planets to more things like collecting items and whatnot. Given the views expressed in this topic it seems you guys would prefer this direction as aposed to yet more dm dead space inspired storytelling, but i'm writing this post to see if this is what you guys would really want and prefer.
