Have to agree about SSD's. It's the one thing that makes a massively noticeable difference to speed. And as a bonus, if you keep your old HDD, you have a windows recovery option that can be performed without any sighted assistance, something I banged my head against for years after I found macbooks could be recovered by blind users.
Especially if you have a desktop, you can just keep your old HDD in the original bay, then if your PC goes haywire to the point you can't even use it, just shutdown, power off, swap 2 cables over to your old HDD, then dboot up and you have a working computer again. Additionally Samsung's clone software is usable with a screen reader, so you can clone your new SSD again as a kind of recovery. After the clone, just swap the cables back, and boot up. At no point will you encounter a screen that your screen reader can't read because you never went through an OS installation. Found that to be a real unexpected bonus of buying
an SSD for my desktop, and those things are really affordable now.
