What language are you using? Antivirus programs killing programs sometimes makes NVDA behave oddly.
If you're making a GUI-based application make sure there's no point in your program where it stops responding (IE: don't block the event loop.)
Try loading your program using Narrator. once it finishes loading, load NVDA and see if it's stable.
Your programs crashing is hardly a reason to go into a panic mode; programs usually crash because of unresponsive windows, corrupt dependencies, etc. If you tell us what language you're using maybe we can suggest some stuff to try.
