Declining Mental Health, Do You Need to Vent?

Hi all,

I'm sure you're tired of seeing yet another COVID19-related post, but for those of you who are confronted with declining mental health as a result of the present world situation, I empathize with you.
Not only has the isolation been mentally-challenging for me, but the pandemic has created a whole set of challenges in different facets of my life including education, living situation, and finances. I feel like parts of my life have been drastically changed in ways that is extremely difficult to adapt to and find ways to continue moving forward. As much as I full-heartedly agree we all need to be practicing physical distancing and doing absolutely everything we can to mitigate the spread of the virus, I also recognize there are significant challenges we all face during this time. Everybody is making sacrifices to help those on the front lines and those who are affected by the virus, whether it's not being able to go to your favorite local hangout, planning finances due to issues surrounding employment, or anything in between.
I just want to reach out to those of you who are battling poor mental health as you try to find your way in the world we live in. I feel that this consequence is horribly overlooked and minimized. I've observed people characterize others' ' concerns for their own severely-altered situations as selfish. This is very antagonizing and is not helpful to our circumstances. Nobody should be shamed for feeling distraught, concerned, or even frustrated. This is affecting everyone to varying degrees, and just because it may be relatively-easier for someone to handle doesn't grant them the authority to berate or put others down who may be affected by this on a more intimate level.
I, for one, am concerned about making rent and my ability to perform well in my classes. I no longer have the luxury of one-on-one-in-person assistance which makes classes like math and others involving diagrams difficult for me to manage. Some of these classes serve as pre-requisites, so if I can't get things straightened out soon, I run the risk of withdrawing and having to delay taking upper-level classes which present even more financial issues. These are just a few concerns that I have which has caused a lot of stress and anxiety these last few weeks. I've found it difficult to sit down with my schoolwork and stick to a rigid schedule.
If you need to vent, rant, etc, please feel free to do so. After all, you are human and have emotions. If you are feeling down for reason or another, let this be the time and place to do it. I find we are restricted to the platforms we express these forms of stress and concern in our own lives without receiving ridicule or belittlement.
I'm sure an attempt to validate your mental health and other personal experiences from a random stranger on the internet is not all too comforting, but I extend my virtual empathy to those who can relate and want to let you know you are not alone. Please, take care of yourselves and don't be afraid to discuss whatever may be bothering you as we push through this together.
