I've also noticed that it's possible for both rescumo and maustadon to have both snow defence and snow rescue abilities.
This is done by equipping the snow defence collar to rescumo and snow rescue suit to maustadon.
You can also equip the autoitem to rescumo or some other tank monsters and give them a master herb to hold.
I haven't tested how auto consume works, but I assume it's supposed to work like in pokemon.
