It's, really depressing to me how otherwise smart people have been radicalized by Trump's little personality cult.
So much fear now exists around liberals and change in general that some seem to be willing to burn the whole country to the ground just to spite them or avoid some amorphous even worse future than we have now.
And it's not like you shouldn't mistrust the left, you should mistrust anyone with an agenda, but moderation is key.
I wouldn't be surprised if in a few decades we'll see terms like "progressiphobe" and "The Trump Scare" pop up in sociology text books to explain when America went batshit crazy and tried to devour it's self because of identity politics and moral panic.
