Re: Discussion of the 2020 American Federal Election
And something else for your perusal:

So basically, Trump decided yesterday that he was cancelling all talks and negotiations regarding stimulus checks until after the election. He's holding stimulus checks hostage and suggesting that if people vote for him, he'll give them back. Remember that right now he's on steroids, which are absolutely impacting his state of mind; someone on the meds he's on wouldn't even be able to run a company, much less a country. But no one in the republican party or the white house seems willing or able to step up and check Trump because they've tied their political fortune to him.
Folks, this is what is generally referred to as a sinking ship. Personally, I couldn't be happier.
I'm not happy about the cancellation of negotiations. That's awful, and I suspect there are a lot of small business owners who are going to lose their livelihoods between now and the new year, if not in early to mid 2021. Not to mention there are also a lot of individuals who could really use a leg up right now, and because of Trump they aren't going to get it.
No, the sinking ship is Trump's campaign in general. I'm looking forward to the vice-presidential debate tonight, because there is no doubt in my mind that Harris will make Pence look foolish. Biden is apparently up in the polls by something like sixteen points right now, so here's hoping that Americans keep swinging left, vote Biden in, change up the senate a bit, and good shit actually starts getting done.
Believe me, though. If Biden gets in, then fails to follow through on his promises, I won't be happy with that. Blindly loyal I ain't. Right now we need ABT (anything but Trump), but when Biden's time comes round again, assuming that his opposite number isn't another dictator, I guarantee you I won't be nearly as loud about everything as I am right now. Biden has some enormous shoes to fill and some tremendous obligations to live up to. I don't know if he's got what it takes. But I know Trump -doesn't have what it takes, so here we are.
Go watch that video I linked above though. The tension, the bewilderment, the uncertainty, are palpable.
