@camlorn: The main challenge when it comes to integration is not getting audio out of it, it's feeding the audio sources into it. In the examples that I provide as part of the distribution, I use the decoding capabilities of each respective audio library to get the audio buffers for each source on the fly, but you can do whatever you want there if you use custom storage etc.
I will be releasing some Python bindings soon as well; there are some nice tools that generate them based on the header which means they will always be up to date.
