actually, I wouldn't want to call it a PWM DAC, it's more like a filter
than a traditional DAC.
To drive a digital amp with an analog signal is not realising the
potential of these amps, it's like taking the Ferrari out for a drive
in downtown New York. You've got to feed it digital signals. 
So, if you've a large collection of LPs, forget about it. In fact, it
will sound bad with analog signals as it's ADC is not well
implemented.
The point is, pretty good sound can be achieved by removing as much of
the analog circuitry out of the box and thus reaching a price point
that is mass market.
