Slim Devices are obviously a committed group of audio/music enthusiasts and no doubt might be personally interested in some of these ideas. Getting sidetracked by lots of different configuration desires from fringe users like us is not in their best interests. The mere fact that there are so many diverse preferred options within this one short thread is proof that there is no single "audiophile" version that they could rationally produce.
It strikes me that what they could possibly do is offer the mainboard on an OEM basis to various small-scale "cottage industry" operators who would be interested in chasing the low-volume/high-margin audiophile market.
