I hadn't really considered the complexity of it, but it is indeed obvious when you stop and think (or just read that post!).
Count this as one vote for 'please ignore FF/RW forever'. I never use it. The only conceivable use for it I can see is where you have ripped an album as a whole. There are much more important things.
