Cleaning an unscratched CD cannot change its sound. Reading data off a
CD is pretty much an engineering problem solved. For an unscratched
disc it is done (these days) without *any* error on most plays. If you
hear a difference this means you are using a very antiquated CD
mechanism, or the difference is in your head.

I could listen to CDs on your system or a $1 million system but it
won't change the facts. When I rip CDs at 4x or 8x speed on my two
machines - each using different and very cheap CD mechanisms - I get
bit-identical music files. The reliability of media reading is a fact
of modern digital life.
