robin i understand your position and i think it is shared by many. in
fact i am way skeptical about most high dollar cables as well. i do
think there are a few designers, very few, mit being one of them, that
have come up with cables that impact systems to the same extent
dramatic component changes do. i also think this occurs without bad or
faulty designs in the pieces being connected by those cables. this is
probably the root of our discussion here...simply can cables be that
big of an asset in system design. my philosophy is yes but this should
be the last piece to the puzzle. in other words assemble the gear you
feel is the best possible system you can to present music in your room
to your liking ... then put the pieces in place to get all you can out
of it. i believe this involves finding the correct cables and i also
believe these cables are pretty much pieces of gear. they should be
designed with the same level of study and sweat and they should be
chosen with as much care as you would an amplifier or dac.

if you are ever in ohio you have an open invitation to do some
