Here is another audio truth: double-blind tests are not infallible. It
gets surprisingly easy to discredit the double-blind test methodology.
If you can assemble a statistically significant panel of eager
double-blind testers, instruct them that they'll be listening for
certain configuration changes in the audio system under study, and let
them listen and take notes. Perform many iterations playing back the
exact same track, maintaining identical volume levels. Meanwhile, with
each iteration, make NO CHANGES whatsoever -- just pretend that you're
going through the motions making some changes. Tally up the results at
the end of the test, and enjoy a good laugh!
