So you're basically saying that it's -all- in the listener's head? Most
people here don't take it that far, and I personally believe I would be
able to hear the difference between a pair of $10 earbuds and my
Sennheiser cans even if I didn't want to, but you're entitled to your
opinion. :)

At least the listener can -claim- to hear what he wants to claim to
hear, regardless of what the actual soundwaves are like, and nobody can
prove him wrong, because the experience of hearing is subjective, like
all experiences. But I suspect that's a little bit off topic.
