An interesting piece of gear for this situation would be the 'NAD C 356BEE integrated amp/DAC' (http://nadelectronics.com/products/hifi-amplifiers/C-356BEE-DAC-Stereo-Integrated-Amplifier). For not much more than a good integrated you also get a DAC on the same chassis. No reason why you couldn't connect your Touch via analog and optical digital and select whichever sounds best for any given recording.
