Read post #54 - do you you see a change in the alsa params shown at
startup of squeezeplay?

100000 with period count of 4 is already too big for the TXRX driver. 
Beyond this if you believe there is an audible difference it is down to
expectation bias as the software is doing nothing different and hence
the only difference is in your expectation.....
