You are mistaking the designers of boutique high end audio equipment for engineers and as an engineer I am deeply insulted. As for the "positive reception from the likes of Stereophile and TAS" while this was basically true at the beginning it now appears that in the pages of both these magazines any time a Squeezebox device is mentioned (if they are mentioned at all) is in the context of using them to stream "background" music from the internet and almost never as a primary source whether for listening to "real" music or in comparisons with other digital source components under review. Why is that? My guess is that the $300 Touch feeding a good quality DAC can not be told apart from any and all the over priced "designer" equipment they so shamelessly gush about. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96407 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
