It is quite ironic that it seems impossible for a subjective audiophile
to admit there is even a possibility of subjective influence on his
perception. 

It is interesting that even in nuclear and particle physics research --
about as pure science-based as a subject can get -- they use blind
analysis techniques to keep observer bias from skewing the results. Like
it or not, audiophiles are still human and are just as subject to
subconscious influence as physicists and other ordinary mortals. 

No one is "shouting down" the conversion. In fact, airing multiple views
of a subject is exactly the opposite. It expands the conversation. 

Conversely, discussions are truly shut down when only the talking points
of the approved party line are permitted a voice.
