Yeah yeah "glow in the dark" is always a winner :) But true fidelity to the source is the only common ground we can have in hifi ? What I'm really sceptical about is that some beleives that there is is some unmeasurable x factor in tube audio ( or audio in general ). But makers of modern guitar amps is sometimes modelling this in software filters for thier users ? Not perfect but it tells what's it's really is about . Power amp is harder to fake as the transformer impedance speaker impedance interaction gives rise to a peculiar set of anomalies that is dependent on amp speaker combinations . frequency response will deviate, xover points will shift, bass alignment would get off . In short a very expensive tone controll and Sfx box with only one setting ? Or very few like triode/pentode mode or variable feedback . ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98249 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
