But true fidelity to the source is the only common ground we can have in
hifi ?

What I'm really sceptical about is that some beleives that there is is
some unmeasurable x factor in tube audio ( or audio in general ).
But makers of modern guitar amps is sometimes modelling this in software
filters for thier users ?
Not perfect but it tells what's it's really is about .
Power amp is harder to fake as the transformer impedance speaker
impedance interaction gives rise to a peculiar set of anomalies that is
dependent on amp speaker combinations . frequency response will deviate,
xover points will shift, bass alignment would get off .

In short a very expensive tone controll and Sfx box with only one
setting ? Or very few like triode/pentode mode or variable feedback .
