I did listen to a friend's corrected room. I had been there before, and the huge glass surfaces overlooking a very scenic view were not gentle on the presentation. Despite a huge expense, it was tinny and indistinct and ethereally placed. He knew it. He introduction room correction, and the Bill Evans Trio was resurrected... His space is huge and glassy and challenging. I think my room is very optimal, plus I am single and no one can dictate my placement choices :) hence when I experimented, I heard some improvements but also felt staging and layering collapsed, even though some bass became more accurate. I went back and forth and kept the uncorrected, yet diligently placed option. I have no doubt room correction is the one single thing that is imminent in my audio future. ...pablo Server: Virtual Machine (on VMware Workstation 12) running Ubuntu 16.04 + LMS 7.9 System: SB Touch --optical->- Benchmark DAC2HGC --AnalysisPlus Oval Copper XLR->- NAD M22 Power Amp --AnalysisPlus Black Mesh Oval->- Totem Element Fire Other Rooms: 2x SB Boom; 1x SB Radio; 1x SB Classic-> NAD D7050 -> Totem DreamCatcher + Velodyne Minivee Sub Computer audio: workstation --USB->- audioengine D1 -> Grado PS500e/Shure 1540 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106933 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
