I've joined a thermal to 7000' with 5 eagles at Stonefield. Was an incredible
experience. One just sat of my wingtip inside the circle as we went round,
calmly looking at me. It is amazing to see how the top feathers feel the air,
wish we had that kind of sensitivity. At the top I followed one as it cruised
off. In +16° flap in a Pik20D i was flying at about the same speed as him,
about 5m behind and at about 34 knots just sitting above the stall.

If that isnt soaring with eagles then I dont know what is!

And sure, while there are eagles up there, and sometimes you can soar past
them, but you can't soar with them in a sailplane.

You've never thermalled with an eagle playing in your wingtip
vortices, or hovering a couple of metres away above and to one
side of your canopy, so close you can see the feathers on its
  face waving in the breeze?

Every time a share a thermal with one of those guys I feel privileged.
The merest fraction of 1% of people alive on the planet today will
ever experience something like that, and I'm one of them. Awesome.
