Hi,

I am currently reviewing Chapter 5 and just had a question to make sure I'm not
creating more work for the person who will look over my reviews. In a couple
places there are references to Draw and it seems like this is a reference to
that particular function in OOo, not the draw toolbar in Impress. For example,
under the section applying special effects, the user couldn't follow the steps
to get to the mode bar in Impress because it isn't the same as in Draw. Impress
has no breakaway mode bar (that I could find anyways). Since I am new to this
project, I don't want to comment or make edits if I'm going down the wrong path!

Hello Nicole,

As Jean already replied the chapter was written as a common module for Draw and Impress, in fact if you press Ctrl+F2 and go to the variables tab, you can set the variable "HideImpress" to 0 and (probably) many of the "Draw" will be replaced by "Impress".

As for the special effects, you are right! In Draw the tool is by default in the drawing toolbar while in Impress you have to display it by selecting it from the menu View > Toolbars > Mode (which actually should be called "Modify", probably a German to English bad translation...).

My suggestion therefore is to edit the text removing "Drawing toolbar selecting the *Effects* icon <Icon here> or in the" and replace "Drawing" with "Mode" so that the text reads:

Several of these effects are readily available in the Mode toolbar. If the Mode toolbar is not showing, select it from *View > Toolbars > Mode*.

Also you will need to replace Draw with Impress.

Cheers,

Michele
