I address this letter not to you only but all people who can ask the same
question as you did.

It is a very difficult question, but the story of making .NET
implementations of very famous Jakarta products
began when Feodor Fitsner and I (Yauheny Mikulski) made .NET implementation
of jakarta lucene
( To tell the truth, lucene was the first one, next Feodor made NVelocity
(jakarta- velocity) and Digester
(jakarta-commons-digester) and I had deal with Avalon).

And Dirk-Willem van Gulik, Apache Board of Directors, wrote us:
"We want our code, Lucene in this case, to reach the widest possible
audience, and our Lucene developers are certainly interested in looking
at a port to C#/.NET."

and I hope the authors and developers of Avalon want the same.

Best Regards,
    Yauheny Mikulski.
