I am so close I can taste it!
Well, I figured out, before I received your helpful replies, that there was clearly a
problem with the version of expat. I believe the patch mentioned on the wiki page is
to patch a bug which was then fixed in the latest version of expat (1.95.7). On that
assumption, I uninstalled expat 1.95.6 and successfully installed both the latest
version of expat and Sablot, so I continued. (Note: should the expat patch stuff on
the wiki page, therefore, be removed now that expat appears to have been fixed?)

I tried to install it from the CPAN shell and it bombed out at the make test stage.
Downloading the source, I tried again by hand - output below.
This looks similar to how Apache::Test module failed before I force installed it in
the CPAN shell. However, the wiki page says nothing about force installing the AxKit
module.
Soo ... do I force install it? or should I be configuring something to point to my
httpd daemon? If so, what?!
I'm nearly there!
