Tom,

I tried what you suggested (installing Apache::Test from src instead of CPAN shell and
su'ing to nobody). I had to chown all the src files to nobody so that I didn't get
permission errors and add the path to httpd to nobody's path when I su'd. That gets
me past the message about knowing where to find httpd daemon at "make test". By
following this route, I've somehow successfully installed all the AxKit modules &
dependencies, I think.

My initial attempts at configuring the server have simply resulted in apache serving
straight XML files instead of parsing them but that's probably cos I've misconfigured
it somewhere - I have lots of docs to read, methinks! I'm gonna break for now and try
again on Monday to get apache properly configured to work with AxKit. I think,
however, I'm over the worst of it and have almost got it running ...

Many thanks for all your help today and the others who replied to my earlier queries.
If I get stuck with the config next week, I'll be sure to let you know ... :)

Three cheers for Tom!

Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip HOORAY!

Peter.
