I don't know what you want to do? How much do you know about XML, XSL, XSLT and Perl? E.g. take a look at exslt.org (http://www.exslt.org/) which defines extension functions, not available in XSLT 1.0, there are various helpful cpan-modules, CMSs built around AxKit, ... .
