Most of the immigrants that are Portuguese in USA, are from the Azores. Anytime you ask one where you from? They will tell you Portugal. Even today my family members and friends going to visit,they allways say they are going to Portugal. Many of them never even been to mainland Portugal, one thousand miles away.
