This is very plausible! The godparents listed in the baptism record
for Jose de Medeiros (Pingão),  1854, Ponta Garça, are Manuel de
Medeiros and wife Maria Jachintha, from Igreja Bom Jesus Menino,
Ribeira das Tainhas.  José's parents (Jacintho de Medeiros and Anna
Jacintha) are listed as natives of Ponta Garça. They didn't use
"Pingão" in this record, but did in the marriage record.
