Ralph S, I'm not David, but I'm one of the admins on the DNA project.
Since your last name is Sellars, you can take a Y-DNA test for your Sellars line. It will trace your father, your grandfather Sellars, your great-grandfather Sellars, his father and his father and so on. You'll get a focus on that one line only. So if you want to do that, then you'd want a Y-DNA test. If you want a cross-section of your ENTIRE pedigree going back about 200 years before your birth year, you'd want the Family Finder test. It would pick up any Sellars cousins, Portuguese cousins, Smith cousins or whatever you have in your tree. However, your parents are still living (or an aunt or uncle who is a sibling of one of your parents) it would be better to test them as they have 50% of your grandparents' DNA, whereas you have only 25% of your grandparents' DNA.
