That would mean he was born about 1843 and married around 1872. Those dates fall in the dead zone for the records I have. I would start looking at the marriage records of NS Estrela in Ribeira Grande for the marriage of Manoel and Maria. The records for Ribeira Grand are not on line yet. In the mean time you could order the film at the FHC near you but the records when they are put on line are easier to use than the micro films.
I can definitely say that the marriage is not in Ribeirinha as I have all the marriages from there.
