Yeah, I've noticed that recent Angstrom builds have been missing an 
interfaces file, but if you create a proper one, networking comes up with 
no problems. A simple version of that file is this:

    auto lo
    iface lo inet loopback

    auto eth0
    iface eth0 inet dhcp
