jbeta available for Windows J32 and J64.

ibeta unzip failures were because the zip had a file res and unzip failed when it tried to overwrite an existing folder named res. Thanks to Bill Lam for figuring this out.

The jbeta installer gives more information about unzip failures.

You will have a similar situation if you try to install jbeta on top of ibeta (trying to overwrite a file with a folder) and you will see the extended error report. Or you could just delete the ibeta folder (or rename out of the way) before doing the jbeta install.

*** Vista - Program Files - JAL ***
A pacman bug in previous releases allowed JAL updates on Vista - Program Files to update "Virtual Store". Pacman should have detected that admin was required and insisted that J be run as admin to do the update. The test was wrong and the update was allowed without admin. The update looks as if it worked and is usable. But the update is not done in the Program Files folder. Instead it is done in:
\User\name\AppData\Local\Virtual Store\.......\j602

The old files are still there in "Program Files" and will be seen both other users. The new files are seen only by the user who did the install. And it is downhill from there.

If you are a Vista user who insists on installing in Program Files, you should check to see that no J stuff is in "Virtual Store". Stuff that is there is most likely JAL updates that went astray because of the bad test for admin. Delete the "Virtual Store" stuff and do the JAL updates again with the jbeta.

It is a good idea to check "Virtual Store" periodically to see what else is sneaking in.
