I'm looking for recommendations on rain jackets and actually pants as well.
In the past, I owned a Carradice waxed cotton rain jacket. It worked well, although the sizing is large so I'd likely opt for a small instead of a medium if trying this jacket again. I also use non-cycling specific REI and Marmot jackets, which do the trick but are nylon, and I'd like to see if I can find a waxed cotton alternative, maybe Carradice, maybe something better than Carradice. I'm open to nylon jacket suggestions, but will be looking for a waxed cotton version off the top. Pants too! If you can recommend something - nylon or waxed cotton - let me know. I had Carradice pants in the past and found that they soaked through if raining hard enough. And it can rain hard here in Portland, and with my commute getting longer I need something that keeps me dry. I've been using non-cycling specific Columbia rain pants, and they work great, but they are showing some wear and I need a plan B. Overshoes! Does anyone make overshoes like the old Burley overshoes that were made to slip over regular shoes?
