For what it's worth, I have already requested a meeting with Soglin to talk
about various transportation issues. His commitment to bicycling as a valid
and all weather transportation choice is on my list of topics.

I met with Soglin on MLK Day and again after a Geography class where he
lectured. We had a good talk both times. I believe that he is committed to
furthering bicycling in Madison. As several people have pointed out, he was
responsible for many of the policies and infrastructure that started Madison
on the path (pun intended) to being a great biking city.

However, far be it from me to ever dissuade citizens from contacting their
elected officials to voice their opinions and priorities. It's always a good
idea to have as many people as possible pushing the message. You can bet
everyone else is telling the new Mayor what they want.
