I remember that storm well...because there were knuckleheads riding down
the middle of the street weaving between lanes on University avenue laughing
their asses off and deliberately impeding traffic....this does NOT help the
advocacy of cycling.....every goofball that blows off a stoplight, acts
irresponsibly etc on their bike makes it more difficult for us to make the case
for cycling as a great transportation area..which it of course is...and how
many
of us have used hyperbole and flames when criticizing someone's else's
behavior? Stop broad brushing anyone on two wheels as a righteous
commuter....its simply not true.
We all need to understand that its often the goofballs doing dumb things that
make us less acceptable to some...that's simply not cool.
Today's a new day...the guy coming in helped CREATE CYCLING ADVOCACY and
facilities in this town....Dave did some good things for cycling, some not so
good....the guy comign in has proven he can get it done before...with a strong
advocacy group helping bring priorities to the table...our city government and
community can even do better.
