Greetings: The highlight of the Wetland continues to be the number of "baby" and adult Virginia Rails present. Tiny had photographed up to 6 little ones with two adults. Rod Lee and another individual have also managed to get some photos of the little black puffs. Tiny has observed them on many occasions and also say one of the adults lift a little one out of the water when it had slipped and became submerged in the water. Only had it's little beak showing.
The baby Osprey (Hunter) is still being covered by the adults. Hopefully, someone will be able to get some photos of this years new addition. The Wetland continues to be very much alive with all kinds of births. The Mute Swans which hatched 7 cygnet, now only have three remaining. Tiny and I believe that the Snapping Turtles, Mink, Coyote or a possible Fisher may be responsible for the four cygnet deaths. "Nature will take care of itself". I will conclude from the Wetland with saying:"The baby Virginia Rails are totally amazing"! Maureen The wetland is located on the south side of County Road 64 leading out of Brighton. _________________________________________________________________ Attention all humans. We are your photos.
