Greetings: Well, well, what can I say? Friday night there were 5 Spotted Sandpipers, a Mute family with 1 cygnet and 4 Mallard families of various ages at the sewage lagoons. Today, the Constructed Wetland was quite exciting. Tiny and I watched 4 Osprey flying about. We took for granted that the four was our "family". Then 2 more adult Osprey appeared. This was all quite interesting until Andre told us that he a picture of Hunter and Junior still on the nest. So there were 4 adult Osprey being watched very closely by "George and Gracie" (named by Tiny). There was a lot of screaming going on. An hour later Gracie returned to the nest and the four intruders were on their way with George keeping a very keen eye on the surroundings. Needless to say, watching 6 adult Osprey manovering in a rather tight area was very interesting. Magnificent birds!
There were also upwards of 30 Chimney Swift in the air. On the ground Virginia Rail continued to make themselves visible to photographers. The Moorhen could be heard calling. Maureen The Wetland is located exactly 7.2 kilometres (4.5 miles) from were the exit (509) ramp from the eastbound 401 meets Highway 30. Come straight south on Highway 30, through the town, right to the Wetland. _________________________________________________________________ Attention all humans. We are your photos.
