* The GCC 4.0.3 page says that "Instructions to install the 3.4.6 version of the Fortran compiler can be found in GCC-3.3.6 and on the BLFS Wiki." However, the GCC 3.3.6 page doesn't have anything about the GCC 3.4.x Fortran compiler.

Please read it again. Especially the 2nd paragraph.

I've read it several times. The 2nd paragraph in the GCC 3.3.6 instructions just says to go to the BLFS Wiki. It just seems redundant for the GCC 4.0.3 instructions to say "Go to the GCC 3.3.6 page or the BLFS Wiki" and then the GCC 3.3.6 just says "Go to the Wiki". Or is there something else I'm missing?

I disagree. Please read the details about the Pango backends. You can
have a fontconfig backend (called something different, but uses
fontconfig), without X being installed.

Then that doesn't explain the required dependencies list for Pango. Fontconfig is listed is "Required" which is why it shouldn't also be listed an "Optional". Exactly what *are* the minimum requirements to build Pango?

No, pango doesn't "require" fontconfig.

According to the BLFS Pango instructions, it does.

* NAS ftp download link -ftp://ftp.us.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/aux/nas-1.7.src.tar.gz - requires a username and password. BLFS should either provide the necessary login information or remove or change the link.

Worked fine for me. Download using Firefox by simply clicking
on it.

Hmm, maybe that was just a temporary glitch in the ftp server. Works fine for me now too.

Thanks for the comments, Chris.

You're welcome.
