When I set it explicitly to /etc/xdg, everything worked. Thanks for doing xfce. I'm still trying to get used to it, but it doesn't have the huge overhead of kde. The only thing that I don't like is that it has two different panels and I'd prefer that the separate functions be combined into one. I've got two monitors and the alternative is that I'd like each on the bottom of the monitors. I can put Panel 1 on the top or left, but not on the bottom.
