Hi Lenny, I just bought a Lacie 500 gig drive and found, to my dismay, that it was formatted as FAT 32, something I didn't find out about until I had transferred over 175 gigs worth of data.
Believe me, it was a royal pain to have to move everything back, only to transfer it all back again. Smile. Granted, this was done some months ago, but if mine is any indication, and a friend just bought a Western Digital 250 a few weeks ago that wasn't in NTFS format, so I guess it just depends on the model you go with.
