Hi Dan, Are you running the XP Start Menu or the Classic Start Menu? To check it, press the Windows key to open the start menu, press escape to get the start button, press your applications / context menu key, arrow to properties, & press enter. When start menu properties opens & if Jaws says, Start Menu, you are on the XP Start Menu. Arrow down to Classic Start Menu, tab to apply, press spacebar, tab to okay, & press spacebar or enter. Now, check to see what your start menu looks like. The Classic Start Menu is the recommended setting for XP users. Hope this helps. Take care. Mike

Normally I use desktop shortcuts to open programs; but I happened to check my start menu and noticed that several programs are missing. I've check in both the control panel and in documents and settings to make sure everything is where it's supposed to be. I tried a system restore in safe mode but the programs are still missing from the start menu. I would appreciate any help or suggestions for fixing this.
