That isn't totally true. There are some accessible games for Linux, but 
not many.
As for speech synth technically you don't need a hardware one as long as 
the sound card is up and running. Gnopernicus which is the x-windows 
screen reader for Gnome is now at version 1.0 and is pretty advanced and 
includes software speech. With it you can run Mozilla, Evolution, 
Openoffice, gedit, and many other Linux flagship apps. Where it doesn't 
do so well is with text based apps that are run on the command line.
However, YASR is a good text based screen reader, and can be configured 
to use the Software Dectalk amung other things.
As it happens there is a new version of Eloquence for Linux out, and it 
is supposed to be able to work with Gnopernicus, Emacspeak, and YASR if 
setup properly. So hardware sinths are rapidly things of the past.
Anyway, I am straying from games, and best shut my mouth. Grin.
