To keep your house as cool as possible. In the morning when it is still chilly outside open all the windows. Best even to have them open all night. Then before the sun gets hot close everything and draw the curtains. In the afternoon when it starts to cool down again you can open everything up again. It works great but you really need to keep everything closed during the daytime. Opening up just one window for a little while will ruin it.
