Ridicule all you want. But the fact is that the force that was sent, and the plan that it used, were built by Clinton, who spent VASTLY more time in the company of military officers than W has. Now if you wanted to reply with an effective reposte, you COULD apply credit where it's due to W. The decision TO invade Afgh using that force was aggressive and assertive and I will NOT join the lefties in reflexively dismissing it. In fact, my credibility here is vastly better than yours. I am on record relentlessly as applying contrarian criticism in all directions, and for giving grrudging credit where it's due. I have torched lefties for ignoring the bitter complexity of the Iraq affair. The pride we deserve to feel over eliminating the Saddamonster... mixed with writhing shame over inflicting on the Iraqi people 12 years of betrayal and unneeded hell. The wretched and cynical lies that we were told, in order to hered us like sheep into a war that had other justifications... but justifications that would take patience and maturity and persuasion.
