Tour 2 - TD's view: I agree with Simon - TOUR 3 TD Jon you have raised some good points Yes entry should be waited as to how much pitch time you get as a team, but maybe the way forward would be to do what some of the larger teams are doing now... Here in Leeds EVERYONE who wants to play in the tours pays up front at the beginning of the season to the club treasurer, this money pays for all the training sessions and all the tours (euro tournaments are extra for the relevant players). So if you intend to play you pay up front, this means that there is no last minute scratching around for money and tours are entered before the deadlines set by TD's. It would be much easier to plan schedules for tours if we new a month before the event how many teams are entered. not 2 days before. Then we could look into extending the venues, or splitting to a 2 site tournament. Chris Hughes has the thankless task of writing schedules and trying to please all, it is a lot of work and everyone is not always happy. Mansfield Tour 2 has a second venue that can hold another smaller set of fields about 5 min drive from the main site that could hold an additional 4 pitches. However most teams would not wish to be apart from the main venue. with these additional pitches Mansfield could have 22 pitches as we can have 18 on the main site, but since we only have 16 teams entered over all 3 division with less than 2 weeks to go for the payment deadline, i am unwilling to book the extra site. If it is needed however i will book the extra site, IF IT IS STILL AVAILABLE.... As for looking into the future, Mansfield has an other venue which could possibly be used (10min drive from current venue), it is currently used for football, but is not quite at the same standard as the current site. This also could be to hold a further 14-16 pitches... so yes Mansfield as a bid could extend to a possible 36-38 pitches. However the hire of further venues does cost the TDS so if this is something people want to pursue then entry fees will rise. Hannah Easter Tour 2 TD PS teams so far entered into tour 2 are
